An Exocharts alternative with no trial clock

What Exocharts is genuinely good at

Exocharts is a serious order-flow product built by people who clearly understand order flow. Its footprint rendering and its focus on bid/ask microstructure are the real thing, not a checkbox feature bolted onto a chart. If order flow is the centre of how you trade, it is a well-made tool and this page is not claiming otherwise.

Why people look for an alternative

The friction people hit is scope: a trial window, and free access limited to selected pairs. Order flow is most useful exactly when you are working on the pair you actually trade, which is often not one of the selected ones. Basis makes footprint, DOM, tape and the liquidity heatmap available on every supported pair with no clock running, in exchange for being a broader terminal rather than a specialist one.

The differences that actually matter

Compared against Exocharts’s Trial tier, read from their own plan page on 2026-08-24. Plans change — check before deciding.

Pair coverage on the free tier

Basis

Every supported pair on the venue

Exocharts

Selected pairs

The pair you trade is more likely to be covered, which is the entire point of an order-flow tool.

Time limit

Basis

None — no trial period

Exocharts

Trial scope applies

Order-flow reading is a skill that takes weeks to build. A trial that expires mid-learning is the wrong shape for it.

Footprint and imbalance

Basis

Exact bid × ask volume per price level, with configurable imbalance ratio

Exocharts

Included, trial scope applies

Comparable capability; the difference is access, not the feature itself.

Derivatives context

Basis

Funding, open interest, positioning and liquidations in the same workspace

Exocharts

Selected data — OI and liquidations

Order flow tells you who is aggressing now; derivatives tell you who is already positioned. Both in one place changes the read.

Indicators and charting

Basis

200 indicators, 20 chart types, 73 drawing tools

Exocharts

Focused on order flow rather than general charting

Whether this is an advantage depends entirely on whether you want one tool or a specialist one.

Research and review

Basis

Screener, backtester, journal, alerts and an AI agent

Exocharts

Lets an order-flow observation become a tested rule instead of a memory.

Switch if

  • The pair you actually trade is not in the free selection.
  • You are still learning to read footprint and a trial window is the wrong shape for that.
  • You want order flow and derivatives positioning in one workspace rather than two.
  • You would rather have one terminal than a specialist tool plus a separate charting subscription.

Stay where you are if

  • Order flow is the entirety of your process and you want the most specialised tool for it, not a broader terminal.
  • You depend on a specific Exocharts feature or venue this platform does not cover — check the pair before moving.
  • You already pay for it and it fits your workflow; the argument here is about access, not about beating it feature-for-feature on its own ground.

Questions

Is the footprint data real or estimated?+

Real. Every cell is built from exchange aggregate trades, split by aggressor side. Where the tape has not loaded for a bar yet, the bar shows its true total volume and delta from the exchange candle and marks itself as still filling in — it never substitutes an estimate and presents it as exact.

How far back does the footprint history go?+

It loads the visible window, fetching from the exchange archive for completed days and the live endpoint for today. Panning back loads more. The panel shows loading progress and reports coverage as complete or partial rather than leaving you to guess.

Which venues are supported?+

4 exchanges are wired in, with exact order-flow currently sourced from Binance. The terminal labels the active venue so you always know which book you are reading.

Try it before you decide

The terminal opens with no account and no card. Nothing on this page is behind a tier, so you can check every claim above in the product itself rather than taking it on trust.
