Settings that fit RED

  1. 1

    Footprint interval: 15m

Start on 15m. RED prints about 2.1 trades a second on Binance, so a fifteen-minute bar holds roughly 1,900 trades and a first screen of 15 bars loads in 24 seconds. For quicker, finer reads, 5m loads in 8 seconds with about 642 trades a bar.

  2. 2

    Row grouping

A typical fifteen-minute RED bar spans about 9 ticks of 0.0001, few enough for every tick to keep its own row. Leave row grouping on Auto and the ladder shows each price separately.

  3. 3

    Heatmap: Fit stays filled

Keep the heatmap on Fit. RED’s nearest 1,000 order-book levels reach about 100% from price, 151 times its typical fifteen-minute move of 0.66%, so the recorded book stays wide enough to fill a fifteen-minute view. The book is thin, though: about $42K rests within half a percent of price, so single walls stand out and can vanish in a moment.

What you get, free

  • Replay of past sessions bar by bar, and price alerts that run while the tab is open

Reading RED’s order flow

RED has traded as a perpetual on Binance since March 2025. Younger, fast-moving contracts tend to trade in bursts, and the footprint is where a burst shows whether it has follow-through: delta that keeps building with price, or heavy volume that prints with no progress at all.

Read stacked imbalances as evidence of urgency, not as a signal on their own. On a contract like this, one large participant can paint a ladder for a few bars; what matters is whether price accepts the new level once that aggression stops.

Questions

Is the RED footprint chart really free?+

Yes. Every crypto footprint in Basis is free, RED included: no account, no trial and no card. Open the link and Basis builds the REDUSDT footprint from Binance’s live trade tape, with delta, POC, imbalances, the liquidity heatmap and Time & Sales.

Which RED market does Basis use for order flow?+

Binance’s REDUSDT USD-M perpetual, the contract the figures on this page describe. Footprints are built from Binance trades only, so they show trading on Binance rather than on every venue that lists RED, and no other venue’s chart is filled with Binance trades.

What interval should I use for the RED footprint?+

Start on 15m. RED prints about 2.1 trades a second on Binance, so a fifteen-minute bar holds roughly 1,900 trades and a first screen of 15 bars loads in 24 seconds. For quicker, finer reads, 5m loads in 8 seconds with about 642 trades a bar.

Why does the RED heatmap show grey areas?+

Grey is depth that was not recorded, never an empty book. Binance publishes no order-book history, so Basis records the REDUSDT book from the moment you open it and keeps fifteen minutes.

Can I see RED order flow for other exchanges?+

Not as a footprint. Trade-at-price data in Basis is built from Binance only, and Binance trades are never borrowed to decorate another venue’s chart. Bybit, OKX and Hyperliquid charts in Basis show their own candles and derivatives data instead of a footprint.
