A free TradingView alternative, for crypto specifically
What TradingView is genuinely good at
TradingView is the best general-purpose charting platform there is, and this page is not going to pretend otherwise. It covers equities, futures, forex and crypto on one chart, Pine Script is a genuinely great language with a huge public library behind it, and its social layer means somebody has usually already published the idea you are about to test. If you trade more than one asset class, nothing here replaces it.
Why people look for an alternative
The reason people search for a free TradingView alternative is almost never the charting itself — it is that the specific things a crypto trader reaches for keep landing above the free tier. Multiple indicators on one chart, second-resolution bars, bar replay depth, volume-at-price. Basis is narrower on purpose: crypto only, no equities, no Pine ecosystem — and in exchange the whole feature set is open.
The differences that actually matter
Compared against TradingView’s Basic (free) tier, read from their own plan page on 2026-08-24. Plans change — check before deciding.
Indicators on one chart
Basis
No platform limit — 200 built in
TradingView
Two per chart on the free tier
This is the single most common reason people look for an alternative. Any real confluence setup — a trend filter, a momentum read and a volatility band — is already three studies.
One-second candles
Basis
Included, built from public trades
TradingView
Paid tier
Second-resolution bars matter for scalping and for reading how a level actually broke. On the free tier this is not a reduced version — it is absent.
Bar replay
Basis
Included, with no future-bar leakage
TradingView
Daily history on Basic; intraday depth is plan-based
Replay is how you practise without risking money, so a plan-gated replay depth limits exactly the people who most need to practise.
Footprint and volume profile
Basis
Included — exact bid/ask volume at price
TradingView
Paid tier
Volume-at-price is the difference between seeing that a level held and seeing who defended it.
Native derivatives panel
Basis
Funding, open interest, positioning and liquidations in one synced panel
TradingView
Not a native dashboard
For a perpetuals trader this is not a nice extra — funding and open interest are half the read, and stitching them in from another site breaks the workflow.
Live order book and tape
Basis
DOM, time & sales, liquidity heatmap included
TradingView
No live L2 workspace
Order-flow traders normally solve this by paying for a second, separate product on top.
Asset coverage
Basis
Crypto only
TradingView
Equities, futures, forex, crypto, and more
The honest cost of the trade. This is a narrower product by design, and if you need equities it is the wrong tool.
Scripting and community
Basis
A formula language with 126 functions; no public script library
TradingView
Pine Script with a very large public library
Pine’s ecosystem is a real advantage and years of accumulated community work is not something a newer platform can claim to match.
Switch if
You trade crypto and nothing else, so the multi-asset coverage you are paying for is coverage you never open.
You keep hitting the two-indicator ceiling and re-arranging studies instead of reading the chart.
Funding, open interest and liquidations are part of how you decide, and you currently read them on a different site.
You want footprint, volume profile or one-second bars without moving to a paid plan.
Stay where you are if
You trade equities, futures or forex — this platform does not cover them and is not trying to.
Your process depends on Pine Script or on published community indicators; that library does not exist here.
You rely on TradingView’s social and idea-sharing layer, which has no equivalent here.
You are already on a paid plan you are happy with — the case here is about what the free tier withholds, not about beating a paid one on every axis.
Questions
Is this actually free, or free until it is not?+
Every capability listed on this page is available without payment and without an account. There is no paid tier holding features back, because there is no paid tier. The one thing that can cost money is the AI agent, and only because it runs on your own provider key — your key, your billing, and the rest of the platform works whether or not you ever add one.
Can I import my TradingView layouts or Pine scripts?+
No. Pine Script is TradingView’s own language and cannot run here; layouts do not transfer either. What does transfer is the setup itself — the indicators, their parameters and the levels you draw are all rebuildable, and for most people that is fifteen minutes of work rather than a migration.
Is the market data the same?+
Both read from public exchange data. Basis reads directly from the venue for the pair you are on, and the terminal labels which exchange and market type every number came from, so you can check rather than assume.
Try it before you decide
The terminal opens with no account and no card. Nothing on this page is behind a tier, so you can check every claim above in the product itself rather than taking it on trust.
Capability claims about TradingView were read from their public plan page on 2026-08-24 and describe that tier only. This page quotes no prices, because they change and a stale figure would be misleading. Educational comparison, not financial advice.
