Settings that fit Q
- 1
Footprint interval: 5m
Start on 5m. Q prints about 9.0 trades a second on Binance, so a five-minute bar holds roughly 2,700 trades and a first screen of 15 bars loads in 34 seconds. For quicker, finer reads, 1m loads in 7 seconds with about 543 trades a bar.
- 2
Row grouping
A typical five-minute Q bar spans about 26 ticks of 0.00001. Leave row grouping on Auto, which merges rows until the figures fit, and raise it if a bar still reads as a wall of single ticks.
- 3
Heatmap: Fit stays filled
Keep the heatmap on Fit. Q’s nearest 1,000 order-book levels reach about 44% from price, 25 times its typical fifteen-minute move of 1.7%, so the recorded book stays wide enough to fill a fifteen-minute view. The book is thin, though: about $32K rests within half a percent of price, so single walls stand out and can vanish in a moment.

Reading Q’s order flow
Q has traded as a perpetual on Binance since September 2025. Younger, fast-moving contracts tend to trade in bursts, and the footprint is where a burst shows whether it has follow-through: delta that keeps building with price, or heavy volume that prints with no progress at all.
Read stacked imbalances as evidence of urgency, not as a signal on their own. On a contract like this, one large participant can paint a ladder for a few bars; what matters is whether price accepts the new level once that aggression stops.
Questions
Is the Q footprint chart really free?+
Yes. Every crypto footprint in Basis is free, Q included: no account, no trial and no card. Open the link and Basis builds the QUSDT footprint from Binance’s live trade tape, with delta, POC, imbalances, the liquidity heatmap and Time & Sales.
Which Q market does Basis use for order flow?+
Binance’s QUSDT USD-M perpetual, the contract the figures on this page describe. Footprints are built from Binance trades only, so they show trading on Binance rather than on every venue that lists Q, and no other venue’s chart is filled with Binance trades.
What interval should I use for the Q footprint?+
Start on 5m. Q prints about 9.0 trades a second on Binance, so a five-minute bar holds roughly 2,700 trades and a first screen of 15 bars loads in 34 seconds. For quicker, finer reads, 1m loads in 7 seconds with about 543 trades a bar.
Why does the Q heatmap show grey areas?+
Grey is depth that was not recorded, never an empty book. Binance publishes no order-book history, so Basis records the QUSDT book from the moment you open it and keeps fifteen minutes.
Can I see Q order flow for other exchanges?+
Not as a footprint. Trade-at-price data in Basis is built from Binance only, and Binance trades are never borrowed to decorate another venue’s chart. Bybit, OKX and Hyperliquid charts in Basis show their own candles and derivatives data instead of a footprint.
