Forex, inside the candle. Free.
Yes, a real forex footprint is free on Basis, on the currency pairs that trade on an exchange with a public tape: EUR/USDT, USDT/TRY, USDT/BRL, USDT/MXN and others on Binance. Every row is built from executed trades, tagged by who crossed the spread, with no account, no trial and no card. Interbank EUR/USD has no public tape anywhere, so these pairs are not the same market.
What you get
- Volume footprint on eight currency pairs: Bid × Ask, Delta, Volume and Dominance views, with row grouping you can tune
- Delta, bar POC, stacked imbalances and delta divergence, all from the same executed trades
- A live liquidity heatmap, depth of market and Time & Sales on the same pair, one tab away
- Session volume profile, to see where a pair did its business across a range rather than inside one bar
- Trading around the clock, weekends included, when the bank market is closed
- Bar replay on the same history, to practise reading a pair without seeing what came next
Why this is usually paid for
A forex footprint is hard to find for a simple reason. A footprint needs every executed trade, with its price, its size and which side was the aggressor. Spot forex has no such record: it trades over the counter between banks and brokers, with no central exchange. A footprint on a broker’s EUR/USD can only show that broker’s own flow, or infer buying and selling from quote changes.
Exchange-listed currency pairs change that. On Binance, every trade in EUR/USDT or USDT/TRY is public and tagged, so the bid and ask volume on each row is a count of real trades rather than an estimate. The trade-off, said plainly: this is one venue’s market, priced against USDT rather than the dollar, and far smaller than the bank market. It describes how this market traded, not all of the world’s euro buying.
How to use it
- 1
Open a pair on the footprint
The button opens Binance EUR/USDT on a five-minute Volume footprint. Use the symbol search to switch to USDT/TRY, USDT/BRL or another pair in the Forex tab; each opens the same tools.
- 2
Group rows until a bar is readable
Currency pairs move in small steps, so single-tick rows can make a bar a wall of numbers. Widen the row grouping until a normal bar shows a handful of levels, and widen the interval too if bars look empty in a quiet hour.
- 3
Mark the levels you already care about
Draw the prior day’s high and low, the London and New York session ranges and the minute of any data release you trade. Order flow says the most at a level you chose before price arrived, not at one you pick afterwards.
- 4
Read delta at the level, then compare
Heavy selling with little downward progress is an absorption candidate; heavy buying that fails to lift price is its mirror. Neither proves anything alone. Watch the next bars, and check a EUR/USD quote to be sure the move is the euro and not USDT drifting.
Questions
Is the forex footprint chart really free?+
Yes. These currency pairs are ordinary spot markets on Binance, and every crypto-market footprint in Basis is free, with no account, no trial and no card. Open the chart and the bars build from the live trade tape.
Is this a footprint of EUR/USD itself?+
No. It is a footprint of EUR/USDT on Binance, which prices the euro against a dollar stablecoin and moves with EUR/USD. The bank market has no public record of its trades, so nobody can build a true footprint of it from public data.
Which forex pairs have a free footprint?+
EUR/USDT, USDT/TRY, USDT/BRL, USDT/MXN, USDT/IDR, USDT/ARS, USDT/COP and USDT/ZAR, all on Binance spot. Other currencies do not trade there in enough size for a footprint to be worth reading, so they are not offered.
How is this different from a tick volume chart?+
Tick volume counts how often a price changed, which says how busy a feed was but not how much traded or who was aggressive. A footprint here adds up the size of real trades at each price, split by which side crossed the spread.
Do I need software or a download?+
No. Basis runs in your browser on a computer, tablet or phone, with nothing to install and no account to create. Press the button above and the chart opens on the footprint straight away, free.
