Basis Founders · Levels map

BTC and ETH liquidation levels, from real positions.

Most liquidation maps are models: they take open interest, assume typical leverage, and estimate where positions might be forced out. Basis Founders shows the other kind of level, the observed one: the actual liquidation prices of screened Hyperliquid whales, read from their open positions and drawn on your BTC, ETH or altcoin chart.

Two kinds of liquidation map

A modelled liquidation heatmap answers a broad question approximately: across the whole market, where might leveraged positions cluster? It cannot know anyone’s real entry or leverage, so every band is an estimate, however carefully built.

Observed levels answer a narrow question exactly: where would these specific large positions be liquidated? On Hyperliquid every position is public, so the liquidation price is known rather than inferred. The cost is coverage. These are screened whales on one venue, not the entire market, and Basis says so on every level.

What the levels map shows

For the coin on screen, the map lays out whale entries and liquidation zones in price bands around the current price. For BTC and ETH it adds the options side: modelled dealer gamma walls, the gamma flip and max pain from the options books across venues, and the strikes of the largest recent Deribit block trades.

Together they describe where forced flow could appear: positions that would have to close, and hedges that would have to move. Read them as areas where a move may accelerate or stall, then use the footprint and the order book to see whether it actually does.

A level describes where positions sit, not where price will go. The whales behind these levels are screened traders with good histories, and the list still loses money in some weeks; its track record is shown in the terminal as it is.

What you get free

The free terminal shows liquidation events as they print on the venue you are charting, the live order book and liquidity heatmap, funding and open interest. That covers what is happening now. The levels map is the part that shows where the large positions are before price gets there.

What Founders shows

Real whale liquidation prices

From the open positions of screened Hyperliquid whales, on BTC, ETH and every other coin they hold.

Gamma walls and max pain

Modelled from the options books across venues for coins with listed options, labelled as a model.

Option block strikes

The strikes of the largest recent Deribit block trades, the closest crypto has to visible large-player orders.

Whale entries beside them

Where the same whales got in, so a level shows both the pain point and the cost basis.

Questions before you start

Are these the same levels as a liquidation heatmap?+

No. A heatmap estimates liquidations across the whole market from open interest and assumed leverage. These are the real liquidation prices of specific large positions on Hyperliquid, for whales that pass published screening rules. They are exact for those positions and say nothing about traders outside the list.

Which coins are covered?+

Any coin a listed whale holds on Hyperliquid, which always includes BTC and ETH and usually several altcoins. The page shows live counts of how many whales hold each coin. Gamma walls and option block strikes need listed options, so they appear for BTC, ETH and the few other coins with an options market.

How fresh are the levels?+

Whale positions are read every five minutes. Options gamma and block strikes are read from the options venues when you open the map. A level moves when a whale adds to, reduces or closes the position behind it.

Do I need Founders to see liquidations at all?+

No. Liquidation events, the order book, the liquidity heatmap, funding and open interest are free with no account. Founders adds the levels map with whale liquidation prices, gamma walls and option blocks, at $15 for 30 days or $50 once, with no automatic renewal.

Whale Intelligence comes with every Founders tool. $15 buys 30 days, with no automatic renewal.

Written by the Basis team, updated 2026-11-07. Whale positions come from Hyperliquid’s public account data, read every five minutes; options gamma is a model and is labelled as one. Research tools, not financial advice: whales are traders with good histories, not predictions, and the list loses money in some weeks.
