Clear rules for using an honest research terminal.

These Terms of Service govern access to basischarts.com and the Basis terminal. By accessing or using Basis, creating an account or continuing after the terms are presented, you agree to these terms and the Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

You must be at least 18 years old and legally able to enter this agreement. If you use Basis for an organization, you confirm that you have authority to bind that organization. You are responsible for complying with the laws and trading restrictions that apply where you live.

Basis is an independent market-research and charting service. It may provide charts, public market data, technical studies, derivatives and order-flow views, screeners, formulas, backtests, alerts, risk tools, journals, scheduled research and AI-assisted workflows. Feature coverage can differ by venue, market, device and data availability.

Market data may be delayed, incomplete, normalized, revised or unavailable. Different venues can report different prices, funding, open interest, liquidations and volume. Derived indicators, backtests and risk estimates depend on assumptions, historical samples and the quality of their inputs. You must verify important information against the relevant venue before acting.

Crypto assets and leveraged products can move rapidly and may result in the loss of all capital or more than the amount initially committed. You alone decide whether and how to trade, choose position size, verify orders and monitor open risk. Past performance, simulated performance and high-confidence labels do not predict future results.

AI outputs are probabilistic and may be incorrect, outdated, inconsistent or based on incomplete context. Tool traces and cited market observations improve auditability but do not make a conclusion certain. You must review the underlying chart, data source and risk assumptions before relying on an output.

When you supply an API key, you authorize Basis in your browser to send the prompt and relevant context to the provider you select. Your relationship with that provider, including charges, rate limits, data use and content rules, is governed by that provider’s terms. You are responsible for protecting the key and for all provider usage made with it.

You must provide accurate account information, keep credentials secure and promptly report suspected unauthorized access. Do not share an account in a way that defeats security or service limits. You are responsible for activity under your account unless it results from a failure of Basis security that you could not reasonably have prevented. Basis may require re-authentication, rotate sessions or restrict access when needed to protect the account or service.

You may use Basis for lawful personal, educational, research and commercial analysis. You may not use it to harm the service, its users, data providers or third parties.

You retain ownership of prompts, formulas, strategies, journal entries, drawings and other original content you create. You grant Basis a limited, worldwide licence to host, copy, process and transmit that content only as needed to provide, secure and improve the features you request. You confirm that you have the right to submit the content and that it does not violate law or another person’s rights.

If you voluntarily provide product feedback or suggestions, Basis may use them without payment or an obligation to implement them. Public market data and third-party materials remain subject to the rights and terms of their respective sources.

The Basis software, interface, brand, original documentation and original site content are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. Except for the limited right to use the service under these terms, no rights are transferred to you. Open-source components remain governed by their own licences.

Basis depends on exchanges, data sources, AI providers, authentication, hosting and other third-party services. Their availability, content and conduct are outside Basis control. Links and integrations do not imply endorsement. You are responsible for reviewing third-party terms before using their services through Basis.

Basis may add, change, limit or discontinue features, data sources or free access, and may perform maintenance without guaranteeing uninterrupted availability. Where practical, material changes will be communicated in the product or documentation. Basis may suspend or terminate access reasonably believed to threaten users, violate these terms, create legal exposure or disrupt the service. You may stop using Basis at any time and may request account deletion through Support.

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Basis is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of accuracy, availability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement or profitable outcome. Nothing in these terms excludes a warranty or right that cannot legally be excluded.

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Basis and its team will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive loss; loss of profit, opportunity, data or goodwill; trading loss; liquidation; or loss caused by market-data errors, third-party services, AI output, outages or unauthorized account use. Any non-waivable liability remains limited only to the extent the law permits.

These terms may be updated as Basis changes. Material revisions will carry a new review date and, where appropriate, an in-product notice. Continued use after revised terms take effect means you accept them. If one provision cannot be enforced, the remaining provisions continue to apply.
