Binance, inside every candle. Free.
Yes. Basis builds a free footprint chart for Binance markets from Binance’s own aggregate trade tape: bid and ask volume at every price, delta, POC and stacked imbalances on spot pairs and USD-M perpetuals, in the browser with no account, no API key and no trial.
What you get
- Footprints on Binance USD-M perpetuals and spot pairs: more than five hundred crypto perpetual contracts, from BTC and ETH to new listings
- Exact trade-at-price from Binance’s aggregate trades, where every print carries its price, size and the side that crossed the spread
- Bid × Ask, Delta, Volume and Dominance views, bar POC and value area, stacked imbalances and delta divergence
- The same contract’s live order book as a liquidity heatmap and depth of market, plus Time & Sales
- Funding and open interest in the derivatives panel, and reported liquidations marked on the order-flow timeline
- No Binance account and no API key: everything comes from public market data
Why this is usually paid for
An exchange’s own screens are built for placing orders: candles, the order book and an order ticket. A footprint answers a different question, where inside the candle the buying and selling happened and which side was aggressive, and order-flow platforms have usually charged for that view by the seat or by the data feed.
Binance publishes every trade for free, each tagged with the side that crossed the spread, so the cost of a footprint is software rather than data. Basis builds it in your browser. One limit, said plainly: these footprints describe trading on Binance only. Other venues trade the same coins, and Basis never fills a Binance footprint with another exchange’s trades.
How to use it
- 1
Open a Binance contract on the footprint
The button below opens Binance BTCUSDT perpetual on a five-minute Volume footprint. Use the symbol search to switch to any other Binance perpetual or spot pair; the footprint rebuilds from that market’s own trades.
- 2
Choose an interval that fills quickly
Basis downloads every trade behind the bars on screen, so intervals from one minute to one hour fill fastest. On the busiest contracts a one-hour footprint can take several minutes to load its history, while five minutes is ready in about a minute.
- 3
Compare the perpetual with the spot market
Open the same coin’s spot pair beside the perpetual. When aggressive buying shows up in spot as well as in leveraged futures, the move has broader participation than when one market does all the work.
- 4
Add funding, open interest and the book
Open the derivatives panel for funding and open interest, and press Order Flow for the liquidity heatmap and depth of market. Delta tells you who was aggressive; open interest tells you whether positions were opened or closed while they were.
Questions
Is the Binance footprint chart really free?+
Yes. Every Binance crypto footprint in Basis is free: spot pairs and USD-M perpetuals, with no account, no trial and no card. Open a market, choose Volume footprint, and the price ladders build from Binance’s live trade tape in your browser.
Do I need a Binance account or an API key?+
No. The footprint, order book and trade tape come from Binance’s public market data, which anyone can read. You never connect an exchange account or paste an API key into Basis to see order flow, and nothing on this page can place a trade.
Does it cover perpetual futures or spot?+
Both. USD-M perpetuals carry most of Binance’s crypto volume and include more than five hundred contracts, while spot pairs show unleveraged trading in the same coins. Stock and commodity perpetuals on Binance are part of the optional Founders membership.
Why does a one-hour footprint take longer to load?+
Because a footprint needs every individual trade behind the bars on screen, and a busy contract prints millions of trades over a few days of hourly bars. Basis downloads them from Binance within its rate limits, so shorter intervals fill in seconds and long ones take minutes.
Can I see a footprint for Bybit, OKX or Hyperliquid?+
Not as a footprint. Trade-at-price data is currently built from Binance only, and Basis does not borrow Binance trades to decorate another venue’s chart. Bybit, OKX and Hyperliquid charts in Basis show their own candles and derivatives data instead.
