Order flow on a tablet. Free.

Yes. A real crypto footprint chart is free on an iPad with Basis. It runs in Safari, Chrome or any modern tablet browser, with no app to install, no account and no trial, and builds bid and ask volume, delta and imbalances from Binance’s live trade tape.

What you get

  • The full Volume footprint on a tablet screen: Bid × Ask, Delta, Volume and Dominance views on Binance spot pairs and USD-M perpetuals
  • In landscape, the complete desktop layout: chart, drawing tools and the studies panel side by side
  • In portrait, a tall chart for reading a footprint price by price, with the side panel one tap from closed
  • The Order Flow workspace: a live liquidity heatmap, depth of market and Time & Sales for the same contract
  • Delta, bar POC and value area, stacked imbalances and delta divergence, with adjustable row grouping
  • Add Basis to the Home Screen and it opens full screen, without the browser bar, like an app

Why this is usually paid for

A tablet sits between the phone and the desk, and order flow has mostly stayed on the desk. Trading apps on tablets tend to offer candles and an order ticket; the footprint, where every candle is split into the volume traded at each price and side, has usually meant a desktop program.

Basis renders the same footprint in the browser that it renders on a computer, from Binance’s public trade stream. A tablet does the same work a laptop does, so there is no reduced tablet edition and nothing to buy before you can see whether order flow helps your trading.

How to use it

  1. 1

Open the footprint and turn the tablet sideways

The button below opens Binance BTCUSDT on a five-minute Volume footprint. In landscape the full desktop layout fits: chart, tools and studies panel together. Zoom in until the cells are large enough to read bid and ask volume comfortably.

  2. 2

In portrait, close the side panel

Held upright, the studies panel takes a large share of the width. Close it with the panel button at its top corner and the chart takes the whole screen, which suits reading a single footprint column from top to bottom.

  3. 3

    Widen the row grouping

If a bar reads as a wall of single ticks, raise the row grouping in the footprint controls until a normal bar shows a handful of rows. The right setting depends on the coin and the interval rather than on the size of the screen.

  4. 4

Keep Basis in front while you watch

Tablets suspend background tabs to save battery, so the live tape stops when you switch apps or lock the screen. Watch with Basis open; when you return, it reconnects and fills in the trades it missed instead of running in the background.

Questions

Is the footprint chart really free on an iPad?+

Yes. The footprint, the liquidity heatmap, depth of market and Time & Sales are free on an iPad exactly as on a computer: no account, no trial, no card and no in-app purchase. Open the link in Safari and the chart builds from Binance’s live trades.

Do I need to install an app?+

No. Basis runs in Safari on iPad and in Chrome or other modern browsers on Android tablets. For an icon on the Home Screen, use Add to Home Screen from the share menu; Basis then opens full screen like an app, and nothing comes from an app store.

Does it work on Android tablets too?+

Yes. Everything on this page runs in the browser, so Android tablets work the same way as an iPad. A recent tablet handles a five-minute footprint comfortably; on an older one, a wider row grouping and a shorter visible range keep it smooth.

Is landscape or portrait better for order flow?+

Landscape, for most people: it fits the full desktop layout with the chart, tools and studies panel together, and shows more bars at the same cell size. Portrait is useful for studying one footprint column in detail once the side panel is closed.

Why does the chart stop when I switch apps?+

Because tablets suspend background tabs to save battery, and a suspended tab cannot receive the live trade stream. When you come back, Basis reconnects. For levels that must reach you while the tablet sleeps, Founders adds Telegram alerts that are checked on the server.
