Order flow in your pocket. Free.
Yes, a real footprint chart is free on your phone with Basis. It runs in the browser on iPhone and Android, with no app to install, no account and no trial, and builds bid and ask volume, delta and imbalances from Binance’s live trade tape, exactly as it does on a desktop.
What you get
- The full Volume footprint at phone width: Bid × Ask, Delta, Volume and Dominance views on any Binance USD-M perpetual
- Delta, bar POC and value area, stacked imbalances and delta divergence, with row grouping you can widen until a bar reads at a glance
- A live liquidity heatmap, depth of market and Time & Sales on the same contract, in the order flow view
- A layout made for a phone held either way: sheets and toolbars never shrink the chart, and turning the phone sideways keeps the bottom bar
- Drawing tools made for a finger: tap a line to select it, then move or restyle it
- A relay that keeps the order book and the tape moving when your network cannot reach Binance’s live streams
- Add Basis to your home screen and it opens full screen, without the browser bar, like an app
Why this is usually paid for
Order flow has mostly been built for a desk: installed software, several monitors, a mouse. On a phone the usual choice has been a candle chart with a volume bar under it. The data was never the obstacle. On crypto every trade is public and carries the side that crossed the spread; what was missing was an interface that fits in one hand.
Basis builds the footprint in the browser from Binance’s trade stream, so a phone does the same work a laptop does, and there is no per-user server cost to charge for. The phone layout was rebuilt for touch: tap targets of at least forty pixels, bars that never squeeze the chart, and a landscape mode that keeps navigation in reach.
How to use it
- 1
Open the footprint on your phone
The button below opens Binance BTCUSDT on a five-minute Volume footprint. Zoom in until a handful of bars fill the screen; the cells grow until bid and ask volume can be read without squinting.
- 2
Turn the phone sideways for more bars
Landscape shows more candles at the same cell size, and the bottom bar stays in place, so the order flow view, the screener and the menu remain one tap away while you read.
- 3
Widen the row grouping
If a bar looks like a wall of single ticks, raise the row grouping in the footprint controls until a normal bar shows a handful of rows. The right size depends on the coin and the interval, not on the screen.
- 4
Keep Basis in front while you watch
Phones pause background tabs to save battery, so the live tape and any browser alerts stop when you switch apps or lock the screen. Watch with Basis open, and expect it to reconnect when you come back rather than to run in the background.
Questions
Is the footprint chart really free on a phone?+
Yes. The footprint, the liquidity heatmap, depth of market and Time & Sales are free on a phone exactly as on a desktop: no account, no trial, no card and no app purchase. Open the link, and the chart builds from Binance’s live trades in the browser.
Do I need to install an app?+
No. Basis runs in Safari, Chrome and other modern mobile browsers. If you want an icon, use Add to Home Screen: Basis then opens full screen without the browser bar, like an app, and nothing is downloaded from an app store.
Does it work on both iPhone and Android?+
Yes. Everything on this page runs in the browser on both. A recent phone handles a five-minute footprint comfortably; on an older one, a wider row grouping and a shorter visible range keep it smooth while the cells stay readable.
Why does the chart stop when I switch apps?+
Because phones suspend background tabs to save battery, and a suspended tab cannot receive the live trade stream. When you come back, Basis reconnects. For levels that must reach you while the phone is locked, Founders adds Telegram alerts that are checked on the server instead.
Can I use it where Binance’s streams are blocked?+
Often, yes. When your network cannot reach Binance’s live streams, Basis switches the order book and the trade tape to a relay that polls them every few seconds and says so on screen. It is slower than a direct stream, but the order flow view keeps moving.
