Keep one list per idea

Every account has a watchlist. Basis Founders keep as many named lists as they like, with the organising tools described here; the last section sets out what is free and what is Founders. The Watchlist panel holds the lists. The name at the top of the panel switches between them, makes a new one, imports one or opens the manager. Each list keeps its own colour, order, sections, flags and notes, and pinned lists stay at the top of the switcher.

A row is an instrument on its own venue and market, so one list can hold Binance perpetuals next to a Bybit spot pair or a Hyperliquid market. Rows on another venue than the chart carry a small tag (BIN, BYB, OKX, HL, SPOT). Clicking a row opens its chart and moves the chart to that venue when it has to.

Practical tip

Your first list is the watchlist you already had: its symbols move in on first open, on the venue the chart was showing.

Sections, flags, notes and order

  • Sections split a list into groups such as Majors, Alts or Shorts. Collapse a section to hide its symbols; drag its header to move the whole group.
  • Flags mark six colours on the row’s edge. Sort by Flag to bring every red flag together.
  • A note sits under the symbol: the level, the idea, or what would invalidate it. Notes are searchable with the filter.
  • Drag rows to set your own order, or use Move to top and Move to bottom of section from the row menu.
  • Every row has an alert button that opens the alert builder at the current price, on that row’s venue and market.

Sort live without losing your order

Click Symbol, Last, Chg% or Vol to sort. The first click uses the natural direction, the second reverses it and the third returns to your own order. A live sort reorders symbols inside their sections as quotes change and never rewrites the stored order. Keep order saves what the sort shows as the list’s own order.

Select several symbols and act once

With two or more rows selected, a bar offers Flag, Move to list, Copy to list and Remove. A copy adds only what the target list does not already hold; a move takes from the source only what arrived.

ActionWhat it does
ClickSelect the row and open its chart
Ctrl or Cmd + clickAdd or remove a row from the selection
Shift + clickSelect every row between the last one and this one
↑ / ↓Move through the list, opening each chart
Shift + ↑ / ↓Extend the selection
Ctrl or Cmd + ASelect every symbol shown

Manage every list at once

  • Rename a list, change its colour, pin it, or drag it into a new place.
  • Merge two or more lists into a new one; each source becomes a section, and a symbol in several lists appears once. The originals are left as they were.
  • Duplicate lists, back them up as a JSON file, or delete them. A delete can be undone from the line it leaves.

Import and export, including TradingView

Paste or upload a TradingView watchlist export (BINANCE:BTCUSDT.P, with ###Section headings), tickers one per line or comma separated, a Basis CSV, or a Basis backup. ".P", "PERP" and "-SWAP" mark perpetuals; a symbol without a venue lands on the chart’s venue and market. Every symbol is checked against the venue before it is saved, and the ones the venue does not list are named and left out unless you keep them.

From the list menu, Copy for TradingView puts the list on the clipboard in TradingView’s own format, sections included. Download .txt saves the same text, and Download CSV saves symbol, venue, market, section, flag, note and date added.

Save screener results as a list in one click

In the Screener Lab, Save as list saves exactly the rows the table shows (the lens, the filter and the ranking) as a new list named after the screen and the day, in that order. The arrow beside it saves under another name, adds the rows to an existing list, or replaces one. Lists made from the same screen are offered first, so re-running a morning screen and updating its list takes two clicks.

What is free and what is Founders

Lists are saved in the browser and, when you are signed in, synced to your account so they follow you to another device. If a Founders membership ends, every list, section, flag and note stays where it is; you can open them, remove symbols, rename and delete, and the Founders tools wait until the membership is back.
