Basis Founders · Binance perpetual data

SPY and QQQ footprints. Compare participation, not just direction.

Research S&P 500 ETF-linked and Nasdaq-100 ETF-linked perpetual activity in one workspace. Use SPYUSDT and QQQUSDT footprints to examine where each contract traded as a broader market move developed.

Data scope: These are Binance ETF-linked perpetuals, not SPY or QQQ share transactions and not CME ES, MES, NQ or MNQ futures contracts.

Four similar headlines can hide four different feeds

An index level, ETF share price, index future and ETF-linked perpetual can move in similar directions while describing different instruments. The footprint needs an executed-trade feed for a particular contract. Basis provides that view for SPYUSDT and QQQUSDT on Binance, not for every instrument associated with the two benchmarks.

If your strategy specifically needs the ES opening range or NQ futures delta, this feed is not a substitute. If your question concerns participation in these ETF-linked perpetuals, keep the venue-specific footprint alongside the broader market context.

Make a relative-strength comparison less superficial

When both contracts move, first compare each one with its own recent range. Then inspect where traded activity concentrated during the move and whether the contract held beyond the reference area. Avoid comparing raw volume totals as if they shared a single economic unit.

A difference in delta between SPYUSDT and QQQUSDT does not establish a tradable divergence by itself. Local liquidity, window length and bar boundaries can all affect the observation. Use consistent timestamps and complete tape coverage before looking for an explanation.

Define the session you are studying

A perpetual review window need not match the underlying ETF’s regular session. Label the window explicitly and take daylight-saving changes into account when comparing dates. Otherwise an apparent change in opening behavior may simply reflect mismatched timestamps.

A shared multi-chart layout makes it easier to keep the comparison visible. Use the profile for the whole selected range and the footprint for the specific retest or breakout. Treat these as descriptive research tools, not proof that an index will follow next.

A practical workflow in Basis

  1. Load both ETF-linked perpetuals

Choose SPYUSDT and QQQUSDT on Binance. Label them clearly so they are not mistaken for ES or NQ.

  2. Align the review windows

Use the same interval and timestamps, check data coverage, and compare each contract against its own pre-move range.

  3. Inspect the divergence

Compare delta, traded-volume location and follow-through. Check whether the difference persists rather than relying on one bar.

Questions before you start

Does an S&P 500 footprint here mean ES futures?

No. The linked chart is SPYUSDT, a Binance ETF-linked perpetual. ES and MES are different exchange-traded futures contracts and their transaction tape is not included.

Is QQQUSDT the same as NQ or MNQ?

No. QQQUSDT is an ETF-linked perpetual on Binance, not a CME Nasdaq-100 futures contract or a consolidated QQQ share feed.

How much does stock and commodity footprint access cost?

Basis Founders is $15 USD for 30 days, renewed manually. There is no automatic recurring charge. Lifetime access is also available for $50 USD once. Applicable taxes or provider/network fees are shown at checkout. The numbered Founder badge belongs to the lifetime plan.

Can I pay by card rather than cryptocurrency?

Yes. Card checkout is available through Creem. NOWPayments is an alternative for crypto payments. Access opens after payment is verified. See the payments page for the applicable terms and refund process.

What does a bid/ask footprint measure in Basis?

It groups the selected Binance contract’s executed trades by price and bar. Sell-initiated volume appears on the bid side and buy-initiated volume on the ask side. Delta is buy volume minus sell volume. It is not a record of every resting order or the identity of traders.

Why are some historical rows still loading?

Detailed trade tape loads separately from candles. Check the tape/coverage status before interpreting older bars; a pending ladder is not zero activity. History depends on source availability and the loaded window, not an unlimited tick archive.

Can I use a Hyperliquid stock chart for this footprint?

Basis also charts Hyperliquid markets, but its exact-trade footprint currently uses Binance. Select the Binance version of a supported stock or commodity for the footprint described here; same-name contracts on different venues are separate markets.
