Basis Founders · Binance perpetual data

Gold footprint charts. See where the volume traded.

Study a gold perpetual move at the price-row level: aggressive buying, aggressive selling and the prices that attracted the most activity. XAUUSDT footprint charts are included in Basis Founders.

Data scope: XAUUSDT is a Binance gold perpetual. Its footprint is neither a broker’s XAUUSD tick-volume chart nor the COMEX GC futures tape.

Chart links select Binance futures, Volume footprint and 5m. Active Founders access is required; they do not bypass membership.

XAUUSD, XAUUSDT and GC do not share one volume feed

Searching for a gold footprint chart can lead to three very different products. A broker’s spot-gold chart may report quote updates. A GC futures chart reports activity in a specific listed futures contract. Basis uses executed trades in Binance’s XAUUSDT perpetual. Similar price direction does not make those volume measures interchangeable.

Check the instrument before interpreting a divergence. A difference between a gold reference price and this perpetual’s delta may be interesting, but it is not a complete picture of global gold buying. The footprint tells you what happened in the chosen contract.

Study a level through the event, not just the biggest bar

For a macro-event review, mark the time of the announcement and a pre-event range. Inspect the footprint before, during and after the first break. Did activity build beyond the range, or did the largest volume remain inside it? The sequence is more informative than one impressive green or red cell.

High aggressive selling with little downward progress can be consistent with absorption. It is not proof of an identified large buyer, and the next bar can still break the level. Keep an invalidation condition with any interpretation and avoid assigning certainty to the color of delta.

Choose rows that preserve the question

Rows that are too fine can make a normal move difficult to read. Rows that are too coarse can combine the exact prices you wanted to distinguish. Adjust grouping until the range around your marked level is readable, then keep it fixed while comparing bars.

Allow the detailed tape to load before concluding that a historical area has no participation. Use a profile to summarize the covered range and footprint to investigate a smaller part of it. Basis does not promise an unlimited historical gold tick archive.

A practical workflow in Basis

  1. Open XAUUSDT on Binance

The chart link selects the gold perpetual, a five-minute interval and Volume footprint. Active Founders access is required for the instrument.

  2. Mark a pre-event reference

Use a prior range or level and make sure the relevant tape has loaded. Choose row grouping before comparing the reaction.

  3. Follow the sequence

Compare volume location, delta and subsequent price movement across several bars. Use a drawing alert if you want to revisit the area later.

Questions before you start

Is XAUUSDT footprint volume the same as XAUUSD tick volume?

No. Basis uses executed Binance perpetual transactions, not a count of quote changes from a spot-gold broker.

Does positive gold delta guarantee a rise?

No. Delta describes which side initiated more traded volume. Price can fall despite positive delta. Interpretation needs market context and subsequent price response.

How much does stock and commodity footprint access cost?

Basis Founders is $15 USD for 30 days, renewed manually. There is no automatic recurring charge. Lifetime access is also available for $50 USD once. Applicable taxes or provider/network fees are shown at checkout. The numbered Founder badge belongs to the lifetime plan.

Can I pay by card rather than cryptocurrency?

Yes. Card checkout is available through Creem. NOWPayments is an alternative for crypto payments. Access opens after payment is verified. See the payments page for the applicable terms and refund process.

What does a bid/ask footprint measure in Basis?

It groups the selected Binance contract’s executed trades by price and bar. Sell-initiated volume appears on the bid side and buy-initiated volume on the ask side. Delta is buy volume minus sell volume. It is not a record of every resting order or the identity of traders.

Why are some historical rows still loading?

Detailed trade tape loads separately from candles. Check the tape/coverage status before interpreting older bars; a pending ladder is not zero activity. History depends on source availability and the loaded window, not an unlimited tick archive.

Can I use a Hyperliquid stock chart for this footprint?

Basis also charts Hyperliquid markets, but its exact-trade footprint currently uses Binance. Select the Binance version of a supported stock or commodity for the footprint described here; same-name contracts on different venues are separate markets.
